Board Games

There a few of these games in the flat, but if you would like to try any of these please let us know and we will drop them in.

For detailed reviews try https://boardgamegeek.com/ and put in a game to find out all about it. Or if there’s a type of game you fancy just ask us and we can suggest a couple.

  1. Dominion (and an expansion) – My favourite game, a different stratagy needed each game
  2. Ticket to ride (europe) – It’s easy to build a railway, unless other people get in your way!
  3. Dixit – a beautiful vague game for people who don’t like strategy games!
  4. Blokus – shape laying, but only for exactly 4 people
  5. Taskmaster – Please don’t trash the appartment playing this one!
  6. Photosynthese – Beautiful looking, tree planting game
  7.  Pictionary – old and worn through use
  8. Secret Hitler – a game like no other, good natured arguing and lying is a prerequisite!
  9. Saboteur – You’re a digging dwarf, but one of you is also a mole!
  10. Qwirkle – Tile laying
  11. Taboo – It’s about what you can’t say
  12. Backgammon
  13. Chess
  14. Ave Caesar – The only way to win is to block others, it’s not a friendly game (also quite rare so please look after it)
  15. Outburst
  16. Noteability – Bloomin hate this game as my wife is soo good at it, play notes on a rubbish piano and guess the song
  17. Cluedo
  18. Monopoly
  19. scrabble
  20. Carcassonne – build roads, castles and pastures, a calm game that’s not too competitive
  21. Linkee – four clues, guess the link, recommend this when you don’t want to sit round a board.
  22. Boggle
  23. Whose in the bag – a bag of names
  24. Jenga – homemade from 6 woods
  25. Quarto – 2 player, you just nee to get a line of four, how hard can that be?
  26. Packs of cards
  27. Othello – 2 player
  28. Trivial Pursuit
Kids
  1. Slamwich fast paced, slam your hand down snap-type game
  2. Upwords – Simpler (and better than) scrabble
  3. Robo Rally – very geeky robot programming game
  4. Hey that’s my fish – very simple, but pure logic, devoid of luck, a six year old can play it, but if adults play it, it can make your brain hurt!
  5. Gulo Gulo – You know that’s latin for wolverine right? anyway, build a path to steal eggs without the flag toppling
  6. Dobble – fast paced image retention, adults are usually thrashed by teenagers
  7. Forbidden island – unusual collaborative game, you all win or you all die!
  8. Get a letter
  9. Gobblet – 2 player – get a line of four, but can you remember what you covered up?
  10. Mousie Mousie – please do not play this if there are any wine glasses near by!
  11. Hadbanz
  12. Last word
  13. Zoom street
  14. Jungle crossing – single player logic
